Bare Snacks makes snacks that are about as simple as it gets—like apple chips with just one ingredient: apples! Or banana chips simply flavored with cinnamon and rich, unsweetened cocoa. With a product that pure and delicious, the brand had experienced impressive growth. Now, they were ready to take things to the next level.
In the already cluttered snack category, a profusion of new, better-for-you options has made it even more difficult for challenger brands to capture consumers’ attention. Furthermore, the fruit snack category has historically been associated with chewy dried fruit or oil-laden chips. We saw an opportunity to play up Bare’s satisfying crunch and get the credit they deserve for being so very bare!
We helped refine Bare’s brand position to make sure the story and messaging convey the brand’s true difference in the marketplace, and created a design solution that’s boldly brand-forward. The product itself creates the brandmark—what could be more truly bare than that? We also played up ‘baked crunchy’ to further support the chip’s surprising crunch, and created a visual system that clearly differentiates among flavors and among natural vs. organic products. Back panels play up their impressively short ingredient lists and give consumers the confidence they’re looking for in choosing their next family snack.
