As the world gathers to enjoy FIFA’s 2010 World Cup, we’re doing a little celebration dance of our own at Sterling today.
In 2008, in partnership with the Room to Read organization Sterling funded the building and stocking of the Kennen Primary School library. The school is in the tiny rural village of Violatbank G, in the province of Mpumalanga in eastern South Africa, which borders on Swaiziland and Mozambique.
Today we found out that the school is the winner of “School Library of the Year” by government survey. We’re so very honored and so proud to have been helpful in building a community space and learning center for these great kids. Our heartiest congratulations go out to Room to Read for this award!
